Excellent job for temp controllingSep 10, 2009
By Mr. Brewster I have the Johnson Controls analog controller that I use to control beer fermenting temperatures on a chest freezer. I upgraded to the Ranco ETC Digital and it is much, much better. The analog has a +-3 degree range as the Ranco has remained pretty stable at +-1 degree. As many home brewers know maintaining a constant fermentation temperature is key to having a great end product. I'd highly recommend spending the few extra dollars for the Ranco vs. the Johnson Controls.

This is my 3rd temp controller. First one went on my 500lb capacity smoker, 2nd went on my dehydrator, and now this one is on my beer kegerator. All 3 work flawless, are reliable, dependable, and accurate. Not to mention reasonably priced. Can't go wrong and you will not regret it once you have it.

Works well for meJun 26, 2010
By Howard NJ I purchased this Digital Control unit a month ago to repace the bimetalic thermostat for my attic fan that I was never able to adjust properly. After climbing up to the attic numerous times to adjust the bimetalic thermostat the fan would frequently run all night. I installed this unit inside a bedroom closet and ran the romex power cable and probe up to the attic. After installing the Ranco I have no more problems. I have the Ranco set to turn on the fan at 90 degrees and turn off at 85. The installation was easy and this unit solved my problem.I recommend this unit with 5 stars

Works perfectly, easy to wireMay 19, 2010
By M. Hommel I have a refrigerator that broke in such a way that the compressor never cycled off. It froze everything I put in it. I bought this temp controller and wired it with a plug and an outlet and now my fridge works better than ever. This thing saved me some bucks from not having to buy a new fridge.

As advertisedMay 25, 2010
By T. Cook This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It would be nice if the temperature probe wire was smaller so it would snake more easily by the seal on chest freezers, but otherwise I can't complain. Works well, and has been for many months. Quiet and fully programmable.
