Not the same quality as the originalApr 15, 2013

This defroster control fit the mounting bracket and has the correct terminal layout to fit the original harness plug. It works, and solved the ice buildup problem in the freezer section.
But the first thing I noticed was that it's smaller and much lighter in weight than the original, and appears to have had a ton of "cost reductions" applied to it. The original was solid and robust. This replacement isn't. And it makes a loud snapping noise whenever it activates. The original made a soft, barely audible, 'click'.
The original lasted 24 years. I'm betting this replacement won't last 5. Thankfully, my particular fridge has a system monitor which'll alert me when it fails. I should probably buy another one to have on hand for just such an occassion. But it hasn't failed yet, so I'll grudgingly give it 4 stars.
Works - 6/25 timerNov 16, 2012
By HD Works great. Originally got a replacement from an online parts store, it worked - but it was the 10/35 timer (10 hours on, 35 mins defrost). Freezer would frost up and stop cooling after about a month. The original was the lower (6hrs on/25 mins defrost?) version and this one matched up perfectly. Fridge been running great for 3+ months so far.
This part solved the problem.May 30, 2012
By Bill C My refrigertor, a GE side by side (model TFX20Z), would have a small puddle of water under it on some mornings. I could tell something was wrong with the defrost system because ice was bulging the back panel of the freezer outward. Also, ice was forming on the back panel. I took a good guess it was a faulty defost timer. After installing the new defost timer GE WR9X502, which was very easy, the puddles stopped and the refrigerator works perfect.
