New inproveed designNov 18, 2010
By FerociousTek This is the new door boot for several GE front loaders washing machines. GE sell the replacement part for $169. This on is half the price. GE won't admit there the original rubber door boot has an issue that will crack in one of the bottoms comers after 1.5years of usage and leak water. This one is a darker color, thicker rubber and improved design. Easy for the DIY to change in less than an hour (removing top cover and front covers from washer).

GE Washer Replacement GasketJan 30, 2011
By Michael Newman

After searching locally and online I found that the part was cheaper here on amazon and in stock. A few local shops could order it but didn't keep it in stock and it would take a while for them to get it.
The Amazon merchant was fast to ship it which was important to us because we could not wash clothes without it. The part was packed well and was as described.
After a bit of online searches, I found a few people who gave a some directions on how to install the part. After a few screws on the control panel, the top cover, a few gasket rings, and the front cover... the gasket went on quickly. If you search for and follow the instructions you find online you can install this part in 45 minutes to an hour. One thing I would recommend, that I read on one search, was to remove the large weights to make it a bit easier. I WOULD recommend taking these concrete weights off, just one at the top and bottom. It will make your job a lot easier getting the gasket lined up onto the tub and on the rim and help with putting the inner gasket ring on.
I am a very happy customer who saved a little bit of cash!

Good product, better than originalMay 23, 2011
By N8D Our clothes began having a bad odor after washing them in our GE front loader. I found that our seal had a great amount of hidden mildew. I was unable to clean it as well as I wanted so I purchased this replacement. The vendor shipped it promptly and it appears to be of higher quality than the original.

Great boot seal, great price, fast deliveryMar 28, 2012
By Cheri We were promised delivery in 14 days and it arrived in 2! Which was great as we fixed the washing machine in one saturday morning. The new boot seal is thicker and stronger than the old one. Sears had quoted us a price of almost $200! crazy, this was under $100! I will come to amazon first every time!
