Circulate: A CT1102 1HP 3450rpm 56J Frame Energy Efficient Swimming Pool Pump Motor ReviewJan 21, 2014
By L. T. Beasimer
Our CT1102 pool pump died after many years of use, so I went to Leslie's to get a replacement. Fortunately were out of stock, as it meant I had to order the motor online. I checked with Amazon and found a much more reasonable price. I ordered the CT1102 pool pump and a pool pump shaft seal which should be replaced with the motor. Then everything arrived a couple days later.
Installation was simple, and basically requires unscrewing six bolts, removing the impeller, and the three screws for the power cord, then reversing the process. As a do it yourselfer, installation was easy to do. I wasn't expecting much, since I replaced the old motor with the same model number, but I noticed the new motor is a bit quieter.
If you're looking for a replacement CT1102 56J frame pool pump motor, this is the one to get.
Simple to install
Better price than local pool store
Could be quieter
Thought it would be quieterAug 19, 2013

Although there are other parts like the impeller than create noise, the whole assembly is louder than my old motor. I plan to upgrade to a new pump assembly next year, so hoping when I bolt it to the newer pump housing and new impeller, it will quiet down. Otherwise it seems to work just fine.
I think I'll buy or make a sound proof tent to go over the motor.
